ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  A South Albany community activist says he's sick of thieves taking what doesn't belong to them.

Tuesday morning, the owner of Chester's Stop and Go found a window broken out and merchandise stolen at his store in the 2200 block of Martin Luther King Junior Drive.

What did the culprits take? Moon pies and sodas. Workers put burglar bars across the windows to prevent another break-in.

Willie Ross has been working with law enforcement and community members to draw attention to crime and clean up neighborhoods on the Southside.

He's convinced someone saw the burglars last night and hopes they'll come forward with information.

"He's a nice guy. We need this little mom and pop store in this neighborhood and I asked them this morning, don't move. We just going to join hands and we fighting back."

This is the third time that store has been hit recently, including an armed robbery on June 22nd during which five men with guns held up the clerks.

No arrests have been made in any of the crimes.
