DECATUR COUNTY, GA (WALB) –A man is behind bars after authorities say he stole more than 15-thousand dollars worth of irrigation wire from several Decatur County fields.

35-year old Michael Dewayne Jenkins is charged with two counts each of criminal damage to property, theft by receiving stolen property, and theft by taking.

Investigators received a tip from a concerned citizen who saw Jenkins and two other men burning the wire to retrieve its copper to sell.

One of those men, Ronnie Taylor has an outstanding warrant in Gadsden County.
