ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Mobley Plant Company officials say a mistake by an employee caused last week's huge fire that destroyed two warehouses, but they won't elaborate on that error.

Plant officials in Moultrie say the fire started in a breezeway between warehouses near some Styrofoam trays and got out of control quickly. The fire continued to smolder Monday. Mobley officials are still working with the insurance company to determine the extent of the damage.

Company spokesman Joey Faison says the trays used to start the seeds are expensive and many were lost in the fire. The area where the seeds are planted was saved. Officials say heavy equipment must be brought in to help with the cleanup.

That work is expected to begin later this week.
