Valdosta - The State Board of Medical Examiners has suspended the license of a doctor investigators think may have attempted an illegal abortion.

Valdosta Gynecologist and Obstetrician Dr. Charles Rossmann is accused of starting an abortion on a 23-year-old woman, then leaving her alone in his office to deliver the baby herself. The woman was 30-weeks pregnant.

Investigators found prescription drug bottles with patients' names on them in Rossmann's office, which he should not have had.

Rossmann has the right to a hearing before an administrative law judge before his license is permanently revoked.
