ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A search is underway on the Flint River for a missing boater.
Rescue crews have been searching for a Thomasville man since about 4:00 Saturday afternoon after they found his boat abandoned a few miles north of Normans Ferry Boat Landing in Baker County.
They say they found 35-year old Brian Smith's cell phone and wallet in his boat which was near some trees.
Miller County Sheriff's Deputies and DNR are assisting Baker County in the search. Rescue crews have suspended the search on the water because of lighting. Crews are still searching on the ground and GSP plans to send out a helicopter if the weather permits.
