ALBANY, GA (WALB) – MCLB hosted a field day for the Marines of Logistics Command Friday. They competed in sports including football, volleyball, and softball.

Organizers say it's a great way to bring all the Marines on base together to build teamwork and camaraderie that are so important to any mission the Marines take on. "This is just a great opportunity for the Marines here on the base and LOGCOM to get together, build unit cohesion, and get to know the Marines on their left and right," said Capt. Jeremy Clevenger.

The Marines who took part in the events agreed.  Sgt. Damion Ricketts said, "It's actually a pretty good event to get everybody to mingle because we work in different sectors, so you don't actually get to see each other every day."

The Marines also enjoyed a good meal together. They made sure they drank plenty of water throughout the day, but they told us they enjoyed Field Day despite the intense heat.
