Man on probation arrested on more drug and gun charges

Posted: Updated:

A 24-year old man, already on probation from Spalding County for marijuana trafficking, was arrested in Albany with more than two pounds of pot.

A-D-D-U drug agents with a search warrant burst into an apartment on Station Crossing Drive and found this pot.  It's worth about $10,000 on the street.

Calvin King was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Though he's on probation, King was allowed to move to Albany June 25th.

Drug agents say he jumped right back in the drug trade.

Drug Unit Commander Major Bill Berry said "Caught him as he was bagging up. Literally when they kicked the door in, he was standing their bagging up a bag of marijuana to be sent out to sale."

King had a loaded .380 pistol in the living room.  Drug agents say he was hiding the big bags of marijuana in the dishwasher in his kitchen.

King is now in the Dougherty County jail.
