
Chicago-AP) -- The struggling Chicago White Sox have fired hitting coach Gary Ward and replaced him with Douglas' Greg Walker, who was working for the club's AAA affiliate in Charlotte.
The White Sox have the third-worst batting average in the American League and scored just six runs in three straight losses over the weekend at Minnesota.
Walker, who played eight seasons with the White Sox, had Charlotte leading the International League in hitting.
