MONTEZUMA, GA (WALB) – A painted money trail led investigators to a suspected Macon County bank robber.

GBI arrested 28-year-old Jessie Emory Palmer this week in Oglethorpe for a July 2nd hold up at RBC Bank in Montezuma.

A die pack exploded and investigators traced the stained bills back to Palmer who they say tried to get rid of them in Macon County.

Investigators with the Montezuma Police Department, Macon County Sheriff's Department, and Ideal Police Department assisted in the case.

Palmer is being held in the Macon County Jail.
