ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  A Family Dollar clerk is charged with helping rob the store where she worked.

Jamaica Harris Jones is the clerk who was held hostage during a robbery Monday of last week. But Police say she was no innocent victim. They say she cooperated with the two robbers, one of whom was her brother.

Their plan to rob the Family Dollar on West Gordon went south in a hurry because there was a police car already in the parking lot when the holdup alarm went off. That officer rushed into the store and shot and wounded one of the robbers, Christopher Raines.

And the other robber, Randell Harris, grabbed the clerk, put a gun to her head and ran out.

The clerk was released unharmed, and now police say she was in on the robbery from the beginning.

Before she was hired at the Family Dollar, Jamaica Harris Jones was arrested on 14 counts of credit card fraud. She was tried and found NOT guilty on all but three counts. She got off with just probation.

She's back in jail charged with armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Randell Harris is also in jail and Christopher Raines remains in the hospital with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

Police are looking for another man they call a person of interest. They want to talk to Kelvin Jerome Kaylor. If you know where they can find him, call Albany Crimestoppers at 229-436-TIPS.
