Cordele, GA (WALB) –  Cordele election officials have seen a moderate but steady flow of voters all day.

The turnout is actually better than they expected after sluggish advanced voting.  By lunchtime, nearly 400 voters had cast ballots at this precinct.

Election officials expect that number to double by the end of the day.

"Most of the people know now they have to show voter ID. We have our sample ballots available for people, so no there have not been any confusion," said Poll Manager Patti Smith.

Election officials think a school board and a county commission race attracted more voters than the statewide races.
