PEARSON, GA (WALB) –Authorities are searching for three men they say burglarized a feed store in Pearson.

An officer fired a couple shots to stop them but the men ran.

The owner doesn't think they got away with anything but says it will cost him hundreds of dollars to repair the damage.

Around 2:30 Sunday morning, three suspects pried open this window on the side of Roberts Milling Company and crawled inside. The owner says they used a ladder and these pallets to reach the window.

When they got inside they plundered through drawers, cabinets, and tried to break open an antique safe, about 100 years old.

"Apparently they we're after is money," said Wade Brown, the Roberts Milling Company store owner.

Brown says it could've been worse if the men ran off with his rifle he keeps behind his desk.

"They did pick it up but when the officer pulled up, the officer made them panic and they threw the gun down," said Brown.

Brown says the men then tried to get out of the building. They pushed open this door. They tried kicking this sliding door and got if off track. They went through the warehouse.

The suspects tried to kick open the door of the neighboring business but they weren't successful so they ran back through the warehouse and shattered the feed store's front door.

One of the suspects got out through that door. Pearson Police say the other two ran out the same window they initially came in.

A pearson police officer fired two shots at the ground in an attempt to stop them.

But they got away. Pearson Police say they have good leads but haven't made any arrests.

Wade Brown estimates it'll cost him $1,500 to repair the damage. Police don't have a good description of the burglars because they wore masks and all black. If you have information, Pearson Police want you to call them at 912-422-7411.
