Moultrie - A World War II Veteran has been sitting in front of a southwest Georgia Courthouse Annex for more than a month now.

And, there are no plans for him to leave anytime soon.

The bronze life-size statue has a permanent spot on a bench in downtown Moultrie. The statue is detailed with army metals, an American flag and the Tom Brokaw book, The Greatest Generation, on the bench.

The statue was bought with SPLOST building funds to honor all veterans. It cost $42,000.

The statue will be dedicated Memorial Day Weekend, Sunday May 25th at 2PM.
