ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Albany Panthers General Manager Will Carter is already getting excited about the 2011 season.
The Panthers promising start to their inaugural season ended in a disappointing first round home playoff loss to Louisiana. Carter wants most of the personnel back for next season but says some changes must be made to better the team. Carter says he does want SIFL coach of the year Luscious Davis back to lead the team in year number two.
"I'm pretty excited about what has happened. I don't see any reason why he wouldn't be back next year" said Carter.
After only having a couple months to assemble the team this year Carter is thrilled about having a full off season to fill the roster for 2011.
"It will be nice to have a full season to put things together camps in surrounding areas. Tallahassee, Macon and to put together a team and having ample time to do it."
SIFL officials will meet on Sunday to discuss expansion for the 2011 season. Carter says the five team league is looking to add up to seven teams.
