ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Firefighters battled a massive blaze at Albany Pallet Exchange Thursday night. The east Albany warehouse on Krug Street near Turner Field Road caught fire around 7:30.

Fire officials say the building was packed with hundreds of wooden pallets.

The fast spreading flames reached two propane tanks that exploded like bombs.

No employees were working at the time of the fire and the cause remains under investigation.

AFD units were able to save two other buildings on the property.

It took fire crews about two hours to get the flames under control. Firefighters will remain at the scene overnight extinguishing hot spots.
