ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  A Terrell County Sheriff's Deputy is hospitalized Thursday after he was attacked by the man he was trying to arrest.

Fifty year old Gilbert Green was arrested shortly after attacking Deputy Richard Andrews around 1:30 AM Thursday. Police found him hiding in the bushes near the BP Station and Kangaroo Convenience Store on Highway 520.

Andrews was taken to a Macon Hospital with a broken wrist. Sheriff John Bowens warned his deputies not to arrest Green alone because he's been violent with law enforcement before.

Bowens echoed Albany Police Chief John Proctor who complained the same criminals are being arrested again and again.
