Atlanta - Governor Sonny Perdue signed a bill today making it tougher to make methamphetamine.

The bill will make it illegal to own large quantities of some cold remedies, which are used to make meth. Georgians will no longer be allowed to have more than 300 doses of drugs, such as Sudafed, that contain ephedrine.

It also will be a felony for most people to own anhydrous ammonia, a highly flammable fertilizer used in meth production.

Farmers and others who use the fertilizer legitimately are exempt.
