BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) -

By LeiLani Golden - bio | email

BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) –Onni, the Bainbridge pit bull mix rescued from a near-fatal tethering abuse, is now ready for adoption.

You might remember the first time we told you about Onni, she had a deep gash around her neck.

Now Humane Society workers say Onni is nearly fully recovered after being tethered with a cord used as a collar. Workers are now accepting applications to find Onni a good home.

But they warn little Onni might be a handful.

"She's very playful and she does get along with cats. She plays with the office cats and other dogs well," says Beth Eck, the director of the Humane Society in Bainbridge. "She is a little spoiled though. So whoever gets her has to deal with that."

Humane Society workers say Onni has lots of toys and loves treats. They also point out that she is very forgiving of her abuse and is not aggressive, so she'd make a good family dog.

If you'd like to adopt Onni, contact the Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society at (229) 246-0101.
