Leesburg, GA (WALB) –  It's hot enough to make you want to jump in a pool and cool off, this heat may even have you interested in installing a pool at your house, but it's not always that easy.

"Pool installations have been going real good this year. The weather being like it is, it's been dry, hot and we've had real good numbers this year," said Bobby Hinman of Hinman Pools.

Especially good numbers of people calling Hinman Pools interested in having their backyards transformed.

"We have found in our industry, it's becoming, instead of a vacation in your backyard, it's a staycation," Hinman said.

Instead of people pumping thousands of dollars on a short trip, they are pumping thousands into transforming their yards into an oasis.

"People are staying home, taking their vacation money, anniversary money, wherever they would go and putting it into their backyards, furniture, spas, any type of repair work, fixing their home up, making it a more valuable asset to them nowadays."

The only problem for folks when they call is securing financing to make their backyard makeover a reality.

"As long as the money is tight in the housing market, it's tight in the pool business."

But if people have the money in the bank, and they want a pool, they'll find a way to bury it in the backyard.

Hinman Pools say if banks agreed to finance even a third of all the pools people were interested in installing, this would be a banner year for business. The cheapest in-ground pool installation runs about $20,000.
