Playoff loss has Panthers thinking next year

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The shock is slowly wearing off for the Albany Panthers after Saturday's stunning playoff loss to Louisiana.

It was an unexpected ending for a Panthers team that appeared to be on track to winning the Southern Indoor Football League title.

It is an even tougher loss for members of the Panthers team who have played for the South Georgia Wildcats.

Those players were wanting to win a championship after the Wildcats also suffered home playoff defeats in the first round in the last two years.

The only good thing about Saturday's loss is some Panthers are wanting to come back and try again next year.

Clenton Rafe said. "I just think back to the Wildcats last year going out in the first round. That is why I came back. It just occurred again and it just hurts deep. Go home and take some time off and see if we can do it again."
