ALBANY, GA (WALB) -Just one day after being waived by the Atlanta Falcons former Georgia quarterback D.J. Shockley made his first trip to Albany as a special guest at the Panthers game.
Shockley was available for pictures and autographs with the fans.
Shockley says he isn't taking the release personally. He's glad other NFL teams can sign him before training camps begin later this month.
"It's a different situation. I've been in Atlanta my whole time so I'm definitely looking forward to it and you know who ever the next team is they're going to get everything I've got so I'm looking forward to it" said Shockley.
Shockley's release leaves the Falcons with three quarterbacks under contract; starter Matt Ryan and backups Chris Redman and John Parker Wilson.
