Albany police were called to the one hundred block of South Slappey, near Oglethorpe Blvd. early Saturday morning.
48-year-old Ronald Watts was battered and was unable to give officers any information about the attack.
Watts sustained major injuries to the head and face during the incident.
He was transported to the hospital for observation.
