ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Home field wasn't enough to help the Albany Panthers advance in the opening round of the SIFL playoffs. Louisiana shocked the top seeded Panthers 41-35.

Albany lost for the first time at home and finished the season 8-4.

"Our defense played well to keep us in the game. They did what we asked them to do just offensively we just sucked. We sucked the first half it was just awful I mean we can't turn the ball over four times in one half and beat anybody. We can't beat Westover High School turning the ball over four times in the first half" said head coach Lucious Davis.

"I think we came out too flat. We took them too lightly. We had chance after chance to come back we just couldn't capitalize. Defense kept getting us the ball and we couldn't punch it in" said receiver Antwontis Cutts.

"I don't know what it was. I don't know. We played good defense we just didn't make the plays on offense tonight and it cost us in the end" said receiver Clenton Rafe.

Louisiana will play Columbus next Saturday in the championship game.
