ALBANY, GA (WALB) – A man tried to stab an Albany store clerk this evening.

Shortly before 5PM Albany Police responded to the Neighborhood Grocery in the 1800 block of West Gordon Avenue.

49-year-old Jesse James Lucas Jr. was kicked out of store for being disrespectful.

Police say he came back with a knife and tried to attack the clerk. An employee subdued him and held him until police arrived.

Lucas is charged with Aggravated Assault.
