A Lowndes County man is behind bars after deputies uncovered nearly half a million dollars of marijuana.
ATLANTA (AP) - A coalition of Georgia power utilities say they are offering a $500 reward for information that helps catch thieves stealing copper and other metals from their properties.
The companies say the stealing of copper from electrical substations, utility poles and lines is a growing problem that threatens the reliability of the electricity system.
Damage caused by thieves can increase the risk of accidental electrocution for utility workers.
Utilities in the state first offered reward money for tips last year.
