Moultrie, GA (WALB) – Three Moultrie Winn Dixie employees found themselves starring down the barrel of five guns when they were jumped as they opened the store.

The five men, all of whom had guns, hid behind soft drink machines. When the three workers arrived at open the store at six they were rushed by the robbers.

They took money from several of the cash registers and then took off running. Moultrie Police say they try to watch out for store managers and owners opening their doors.

"One of the things a lot of our stores do and that really any store can do is before they arrive on the scene is to call for an officer to come and stand by while they open. Many of our convenience store do that," said Moultrie Police Cpl. Dave Underwood.

Police feel sure someone in the community knows something about the crime. They're asking anyone with information to make an anonymous tip to their tip line at (229) 890-5451.
