Albany-- In an effort to build community support and at the same time teach the fundamentals of football, Albany State University and Owens Sporting Goods are teaming up to host the 'Rams Roundup' this summer.
ASU head football coach Mike White and Owens Sporting Goods part-owner Rich Dennison made the announcement this morning in Albany. The Rams Roundup includes a football camp, and two separate coaching clinics that will take place June 26th to the 28th.
The camp is open to kids ages 8 to 18 and will be held on the Albany State campus. There they will learn the finer points of football from high school, college and even an N.F.L. Coach (Philadelphia's Juan Castillo).
"We just think that again the camp is only going to get bigger and better having guys like this come in and I think the kids as well as the coaches are going to see the quality there and we are excited," ASU head fooball coach Mike White said. "Through this camp I'm hoping the parents will understand the safety needs, the fundamentals that they'll learn where they're not getting them right now," Owens Sporting Goods owner Rich Dennison said.
