ALBANY, GA (WALB) -State Representative Carol Fullerton met with supporters Thursday night in her bid to earn a second term.
She's being challenged by Freddy Grimsley in the District 151 Democratic Primary. Fullerton held a fundraiser at Thronateeska Heritage Center.
She says she worked hard this year to secure money for the Ray Charles Performing Arts Center at Albany State.
She's also trying to lock down money to help rebuild the Broad Avenue Bridge, making it more bicyclist and pedestrian friendly.
"I think it will be wonderful for the college students, for people in east Albany, and just there along the park. I think it will make a wonderful addition to the downtown," said Fullerton.
The bridge could cost up to $16 million. Fullerton is also pushing the DOT to widen highway 133 from Albany to Valdosta.
