ALBANY, GA (WALB) –Several dozen Dougherty County voters attended a candidate's forum Thursday afternoon.

Six of the nine candidates running for school board and county commission participated in the chamber forum.

Several people in the audience say they learned a lot from hearing the candidates in person answering questions from a media panel.

Lallie Jones Benkoski said "I want to be an educated voter. I want my vote to county, and so I want to know as much as I can. And I learned something today."

Sally Hairston said "This was personal. You personally got to hear them say what they believe in and what they are going to work on."

The three incumbents, Jack Stone, John Hayes and June Bug Griffin, did not attend the forum.
