ALBANY, GA (WALB) –Air conditioner thieves continue to target businesses in Albany.

Two neighboring businesses on West Broad Avenue sweltered in 100 degree heat after their units were stolen.

Fans were blowing on employees at The Labor Finders.

Their entire air conditioning unit and the one for the Knew and Knot hair dressers next door were missing when they came to work yesterday.

The salon had just installed a new unit after it was gutted by thieves last week.

Labor Finders proprietor Stanley Clay said  "It's very hot. Hard to get work done. It's hard to keep the doors open to let air in, because the bugs and the gnats come in. It's frustrating trying to do work.>

Clay says it will cost about $5000 to replace the air conditioner, and it probably will not be hooked up until late Monday.

He says he plans to buy a fence and alarm system for the unit.
