Teachers and parents have new resources to help kids deal with major issues such as bullying, depression, and obesity. Now kids and educators have the power to make a difference. Officials with Phoebe's Network of Trust highlighted those resources at a special luncheon Wednesday.More >>
Lee County, GA (WALB) – A new civic organization is starting up in Lee County to help kids in the community. Kiwanis has founded a Lee County chapter.
Thursday night, they'll host a charter celebration at Grand Island Country Club.
President Amanda Smith said, "To form a new club in Lee County and to be able to help that specific area is going to be wonderful during these hard times when giving is down. We'll be able to get out there, whether it be through volunteering even, not financially, whatever we can do, that's what Kiwanis is here to do."
The charter meeting starts at six o'clock Thursday, to celebrate the 26 founding members of this club.
