ALBANY, GA (WALB) -Albany baseball legend Paul Eames already has a baseball complex named after him. Now he also has a tournament with his name on it.
The Eames Complex will host the first annual Paul Eames baseball tournament this weekend beginning on Friday.
Players 19 and under will make up ten teams.
On Saturday there will be a barbecue and ceremony to honor Eames for his contributions to Albany's youth in baseball. Eames coached American Legion Post 30 to four state titles and worked tirelessly teaching his players the game.
Tournament director Rodney German played for Eames with the 1983 state championship team.
"By playing for Paul in 1983 is how I got my scholarship to college and so this is another reason I'm doing this is to try to give back to Paul. Put something in Paul's name that will be here for years to come" said German.
The tournament begins on Friday morning with 83-year-old Paul Eames throwing out the first pitch at 9:30.
