Burglary uncovers Albany Police equipment

By Jim Wallace - bio | email

ALBANY, GA (WALB) –While violent crime is down, property crime in Albany continues to rise.

Now a burglary victim is in trouble.

She's a former cop who kept police equipment she should have turned in to the city.

When police investigated a burglary at outgoing Officer Iesha Mullen's apartment on West Broad Avenue July 3rd.  They noticed she still had three police badges, her police I-D card, a baton and a green police reflective vest.

Mullen had already gone through her final check and should have returned those items. Police confiscated them.

Officials plan no further investigation or action.
