TOKYO, JAPAN (WALB) – Toyota started recalling more than 90,000 Lexus and Crown vehicles in Japan Monday.

Toyota said the recall over defective engines would also begin soon in overseas markets. In total, some 270,000 vehicles are being recalled worldwide due to a problem that can make vehicles stall while in motion.

The latest recall came as Toyota struggles to rebound from other massive global recalls.

Toyota has already recalled more than 8.5 million vehicles since late last year for a variety of problems, including gas pedals that stick.
