ALBANY, GA (WALB) – The City of Albany is expecting thousands downtown Sunday night.

Part of Front Street near the Civic Center has been blocked off since early Sunday morning as vendors set up for Albany's Independence Day Celebration.

Several downtown attractions are offering special discounts, but one of the biggest draws will be the fireworks.

"We always try to mix it up and put some new stuff in there, the grown show is going to be great," said Dale Henry, Fireworks Coordinator.

The fireworks will start at 9:30 PM and should last about thirty minutes.
