ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Another Georgia gubernatorial candidate made a campaign stop in Albany Friday. One day after Roy Barnes was here, fellow Democrat David Poythress came to town.

Flanked by local politicians, Poythress pledged to be a governor for all of Georgia, not just Atlanta. He says he recognizes the significance of votes south of Columbus and Macon.

"I don't think a candidate can win statewide without carrying a substantial number of those votes. This is one state, and I'm the Governor that's going to be the governor of the whole state. I'm not going to forget about south Georgia after election day."

Poythress is one of seven candidates seeking the Democratic nomination for governor. Seven Republicans are running, too.
