    Information from the Tift County Sheriff's Office- On Tuesday, May 7, 2013, the Mid-South Narcotics Task Force along with the Tift County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant on the residence of 36

Albany - A South Georgia retired FBI agent is honored for his respect for the law and civic responsibilities. The Dougherty County Bar Association gave Ed Haggerty the 2003 Liberty Bell Award at the Law Day festivities in Albany on Monday.

Haggerty retired from the FBI in 1976, after more than 20 years of duty. He also served as the Vice President of collections and security at Trust Company Bank and as an investigator for an Albany law firm. He is active in the Kiwanis Club and volunteers at Sylvandale Elementary School.

The Bar Association also honored 6 student winners of its essay contest.
