15-year old faces aggravated assault charges

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) –New details Thursday night in the shooting of a 15-year old Valdosta boy Sunday.

He now faces criminal charges.

Police tell us that teenager walked out of his house with a gun and hit a man who was walking down Johnson Street.

Police say the gun was dropped and the man picked it up and shot the teen in self defense.

The boy is also accused of firing shots at the American Legion on South Lee Street Friday around 2 a.m.

20-year old Alex Johnson was shot in the hand and 23-year old Frederick Cooper was shot in the foot.

The 15-year old is now charged with three counts aggravated assault and is in the Thomasville Youth Detention Center.
