ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Gubernatorial candidate Roy Barnes picked up the support of some elected officials in Dougherty County Thursday at a quick stop at the Albany Chamber of Commerce.
Dougherty County commissioners Gloria Gaines and John Hayes, School board members Anita Williams Brown and Junebug Griffin and State Representative Winfred Dukes were there to show their support for Barnes.
Barnes says he knows how badly Southwest Georgia has suffered because of job loss in the area, and if he's elected he'll work to create jobs here.
"Those are things that should have been the top priority of the Governor and of the state to keep, rather than to let slip by."
