ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Four people were taken to the hospital this afternoon after a wrong-way driver caused a three car wreck in Albany.

It happened around two o'clock this afternoon. Police say this pick-up truck was southbound in the northbound lane of the 2000 block of Dawson Road.

The truck collided head on with this Honda Accord.  That's when this white Hyundai hit the Honda from behind, jumped the curve and stopped in front of this apartment complex.

"They did get some information that there may have been a visit to the doctor, so they are looking into whether that played a role in the accident," said Phyllis Banks of the Albany Police Department.

The drivers of all three vehicles were taken to the hospital, along with the passenger of the Hyundai.

Traffic was re-routed for more than an hour after the wreck. Charges are pending.
