Valdosta bank held up Tuesday morning

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) –  Police have made an arrest in connection with a robbery at the First State Bank and Trust on Inner Perimeter Road in Valdosta.

VPD says they have 44-year-old Joel Craig Daniel in custody, and they are continuing to investigate the robbery, which happened about 9:00AM.

Investigators say Daniel, who is jobless, handed the teller a note demanding money, and he got about $5,300 in cash.

He went out side the bank and sat on a curb, waiting for police to arrive.  Daniel had been incarcerated at Scott State Prison.

He had served a five-year term for Criminal interference with government property in Cook County.

The bank is located near the intersection of Bemiss Road and Inner Perimeter Road.
