VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - The Gulf South Conference could have a much different look in 2011.
All 6 GSC schools from Arkansas are considering leaving the conference because of travel concerns.
If the schools left it would leave the GSC with 8 teams and only 5 of them have football.
Valdosta State athletic director Herb Reinhard says the GSC will consider adding new teams to resolve the football scheduling conflict.
"Certainly we are going to have to look at expansion. It needs to be expansion that makes sense. It needs to be schools that meet the philosophy and the footprint of the Gulf South Conference" said Reinhard.
"The situation with football is challenging and we'll have to sit down and do some studying as to what's the best scenario, what's the best answer."
Reinhard says an announcement from the Arkansas schools is expected to come by August 1st.
