ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany Quails home debut in Albany will be delayed a few weeks.

The Peach State League wanted the Albany team to start its limited schedule at the Paul Eames Complex with a four game series that began on Thursday.

Albany Parks and Recreation director Suzanne Davis says there was no way the city could handle the staffing required during the July 4th holiday weekend after receiving the league's schedule late last week.

Davis says the Quails first game at the Eames Complex is now scheduled for July 15th in the first of a three game series over four days.

League co-owner Bill Larsen is proposing for the Albany Quails to also play at Eames on July 24-28 and August 2-8.

The four team Peach State League will play most of their games in Macon to help control costs.

The league wants to play a limited schedule in Albany this year and is considering playing a complete home schedule at the Eames Complex next year.
