VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) –A Valdosta teenager remains in the hospital Monday after being shot Sunday night.

15-year old Lawrence Lee Williams told police he was being robbed when he was shot in the stomach Sunday night shortly before 7. It happened in front of his home on Johnson Street.

A friend and neighbor of Williams came home after a funeral after the shooting and noticed his street was blocked off by crime tape.

"I'd be chilling with him over at his house playing video games," said Kadrian James. "I was shocked. I didn't believe it happened."

Police are interviewing both the victim and a suspect. No charges have been yet filed.
