Ninth grader wins art competition

Albany- Ninth grader Eric Jackson is the winner of the Congressional Art Competition for Georgia's Second Congressional District.

Representative Sanford Bishop announced the winners via satellite. Jackson's still life depiction of a fish market will hang in the US Capitol for a year.

Jackson's painting placed first from a collection of over one-hundred pieces of art. Students from 18 high schools in the Second Congressional District competed in the event.
