Family looks for answers in death investigation

By Tayleigh Davis - bio | email

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -The family of a woman found dead in a motel room this week spoke to WALB.  Police found 43-year old Cindy Gilbert of Sumner in her room at the Regency Motel.

This is a picture of Gilbert and her five-year old daughter. Management found her body in room 217 at the Regency on Oglethrope Boulevard Monday afternoon.

The family says she was living there at the time and a friend was paying for her rent. Police aren't sure how she died but the family wants answers.

"We were all real close so she was really more like a sister than a cousin," said her cousin Michael Pullen.

Gilbert's body was sent to the crime lab in Macon for an autopsy. We should also know more details from a toxicology test in the next few weeks.
