ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Two Albany convenience store clerks were robbed early Saturday morning as they closed up the store.

Police say 23-year-old Latoya Bambo, and 22-year-old Shandreal Simmons had closed the Express Lane at Gillionville and Locket station Road just after 12:30.

The two were in the parking lot along with a 14-year-old when two men, one armed with a gun demanded money.

The robbers took off running with a purse, wallet, and cell phone.

Both suspects were black; one had a white scarf over his face the other had a black scarf.

If you know anything about the armed robbery you're asked to call Albany police.

Albany police are trying to figure out if a man shot himself Saturday morning or if someone else did it.

People leaving a club in 700-block of West highland spotted 54-year-old Nathaniel Lee Roberts around 2:00 lying on the ground with a gunshot wound.

Roberts told police he was shot by two men, but they're not sure if that's true. APD said the Roberts was intoxicated and was not cooperative

His wound is not life threatening.
