ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Dougherty County Juvenile Judge Herbie Solomon spoke to several hundred kids taking part in the National Youth Sports Program at Albany State University Friday. He encouraged them to stay in school and warned them what could happen if they break the law.
Solomon says it's important to encourage kids who are doing the right thing. "We don't want to see these children in our courts. We prefer to see them in their classrooms or having a good time at the mall or the skating rink or the movie theater. We don't want to see them in court," Solomon said.
The summer sports program runs through next Friday.
