ALBANY, GA (WALB) – A 15 year old Albany girl charged with stabbing a 12-year-old boy to death has been found incompetent to stand trial. But that doesn't mean Ladronda Hamilton will never be prosecuted.
Hamilton is charged with killing 12-year-old Shawn Williams. Williams was stabbed to death after he threw rocks at Hamilton's mobile home on East Broad Avenue last June.
A psychiatrist testified at a competency hearing that he doesn't think Hamilton is capable of standing trial now, but could be able to face the charges with treatment. A jury agreed.
Prosecutors say she will be sent to a psychiatric hospital and re-evaluated every 90 days, and that she may ultimately be tried for the murder.
