VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Valdosta State baseball player Jon Koenigsfeld has won the Gulf South Conference's Commissioner's Trophy.
The senior from New Port Richey Florida led VSU to the Gulf South Conference baseball title and graduated with a 4.0 grade point average.
He is the first VSU athlete to win the commissioners trophy since former Blazers quarterback Lance Funderburk 13 years ago. Koenigsfeld is now playing for Albany Quails of the Peach State baseball league. West Florida's Courtney Jones wins the women's Commissioner Trophy and Valdosta State men won the Al-Sports Trophy.
